Medicare Advantage (Part C) is
• Offered by private companies approved by Medicare.
• Combines Part A and B, and usually Part D (prescription drugs). • Often includes extras like dental, vision, hearing, and wellness programs.

When: October 15 to December 7

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Periods
When: January 1 to March 31


What: If you’re already in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can:

• Switch to a different Medicare Advantage Plan.

• Drop your plan and return to Original Medicare (and join a Part D plan if needed).

• Note: You can’t switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage Plan during this period.

Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) •
When: Varies depending on circumstances

Who: For people who qualify due to special situations, like:
• Losing employer coverage.
• Moving out of your plan’s service area.
• Qualifying for Medicaid or Extra Help.

What: You can enroll or make changes without penalties.
